Social media has come as a blessing for many people like every other thing it has some advantages and disadvantages. Social media platforms are influencing every aspect of our lives and affecting our routine lives and behaviours in many ways. People don’t even realize how much time they are devoting to social media platforms. This unregulated social media use exerts an adverse effect on our spending habits as well. Social media users are spending way more than their budgets and they even don’t know how to manage it. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, we use these social media platforms on daily basis. These social media platforms are getting popularity all over the world as they are designed to facilitate users in creating and sharing content with their friends. However, these are not the only apps youth are using nowadays. There are some dangerous apps too and people are so much addicted to them.

Believe it or not but too much use of social media has created depression and anxiety among the people especially in the younger generation. So here is the list of Apps that Parent should know About:

• Whisper:

Whisper is an app used widely by youth. This app allows people to share their secret and express themselves. This app is used to meet new people nearby location. As the location is shared by people on this app so this app is posing some serious dangers among parents.

This is one of the most dangerous apps that your kids will install. There is a possibility that he will share some serious information regarding himself which can be used in a bad way later on.  Either parents should monitor their kids using this app or should ask them to delete it completely.

• BEETALK:

This application is used by people in order to find people based on you interested. The worst thing about this app is that it access your location and by scanning your location it scans people with similar interests. Later on, it allows people to send messages and free calls.

This is the most dangerous app for Children as it accesses their location which is not a good option. Another bad thing about this app is to send voice messages and unlimited free calls. This is a helpful app for predators to find their next victim. So this app is a big NO from my side.

• Tinder:

Tinder is the most popular app that allows users to find nearby people, talk to strangers and even meet them. This app uses a GPS feature to share your locations and find people within your range. When you find someone similar to your interest you can chit chat with them and late on a hook on as a Gf/Bf.  Tinder states that only 18 years old people can make an account however there is no verification process to check.

Conclusion:

Google Play Store and App store are full of such apps, I have just mentioned three. So parents should keep an eye on their children who might be using these dangerous apps. It is the parents’ responsibility to check their kid’s phone from time to time for such applications. Nowadays there are multiple cases of Cybercrime, Cyber Bullying, sexual harassment and Blackmailing.
