4G Smartphone Shipments to Reach 1.17 billion for 2016-IDC

The International Data Corporation (IDC) makes some predictions regarding the smartphone shipments for 2016. According to the IDC 4G Smartphone Shipments are expected to Reach 1.17 billion for 2016. However, the overall smartphone shipments will reach 1.45 billion this year. If we make a comparison with 2015’s 4G smartphone shipments, there is a significant increase in the figure. In 2015, 967 million 4G devices were shipped and now it will reach to 1.17 Billion.

There is  a year-to-year significant growth in the smartphone shipments. In 2016, there is a 21.3 percent increase in 4G smartphone shipments. Not specifically the 4G devices, the world also witnessed a significant growth in the overall smartphone shipments. There is also 0.6 percent increase in overall shipments. This year the overall smartphone shipments reach to 1.45 Billion.

The increase in this growth is due to the launch of 4G services in different countries. With the growing 4G technology, the demand for 4G devices has also increased. Local telecom operators are getting benefit from it by offering 4G bundle at affordable price.
