Facebook’s strategy to stop ad blockers has already been hindered. Adblock Plus has set up a technique to strip ads from Facebook, even when they’re delivered in Facebook’s new ad blocker-proof layout.
Adblock Plus Defeats Facebook New Ad Blocking Restrictions
Anybody with a wholly updated form of Adblock Plus should once again be capable to evade ads in Facebook’s sidebar and News Feed.
However Facebook is of the view that in its effort to take out ads, Adblock Plus is also eliminating normal posts.
A Facebook spokesperson said,
“We’re disappointed that ad blocking companies are punishing people on Facebook. As these new attempts don’t just block ads but also posts from friends and Pages.”
The announcement of a new ad blocker is still bad news for Facebook, which rolled out its allegedly unblockable ads just two days before. It’s probable that Facebook has other measures. It can take to destabilize ad blockers or that it anticipated that this type of back-and-forth combat will supervene.
But the fact that Adblock Plus replied in two days’ time doesn’t augur well. Facebook wants to show ads, but it’s difficult to envision it wants to give resources to outwitting a browser.
“This sort of back-and-forth battle between the open-source ad-blocking community and circumventers has been going on. So it’s very possible that Facebook will write some code that will render the filter useless — at any time.”
Adblock Plus’ Ben Williams marks in a blog post.
To avoid ad blockers in the first place, Facebook detached code that clearly recognized ads, making them seem more like normal Facebook posts.
On Tuesday, Facebook revealed that it felt relaxed dodging ad blockers because its ads weren’t irritating. It was giving users better control over what types of ads they see. But it is a fact that Facebook can’t exist without ads, which are its key source of income.
Some people using ad blockers say that they’re compulsory to uphold their privacy online. Since ads, comprising Facebook’s, can trace your interests around the web.
