Adobe announced that their most loved plugin that allowed users to play their favorite videos on YouTube will be phased out by the end of 2020. Right now Adobe has stop updating or distributing flash. Adobe to Kill Flash by the End OF 2020: Goodbye Flash.

Adobe will still collaborate with Apple, Mozilla, Microsoft and Google to offer security updates for Flash in their browsers. But Adobe will no offer new Flash features.
Adobe to Kill Flash by the End OF 2020: Goodbye Flash
Adobe revealed that it will quickly be ending Flash’s support in areas where  unlicensed and outdated versions of the Flash player are distributed.
The demise of flash isn’t shocking as it was expected as Flash became the major target of hackers. Plus as Apple never supported Adobe Flash in iPhone was a clear signal that it will not live long.
VP of product development Adobe, Govind Balakrishnan Said:
We’re very proud of the legacy of Flash and everything it helped pioneer. During the 20+ years it has been around, it has played a key role in advancing interactivity and creative content on the web. Few technologies have had such a profound and positive impact in the internet era. But Adobe has always been about reinvention and creativity. And we’re excited to help lead the next era of digital content creation.
In a press release Adobe revealed that the number of companies that used to rely on Flash have also faded out. However the use of Flash is ever increasing in education and gaming sector.
