Android Messages Gets Dark Mode with 3.5 Update

Android Messages is popular texting app on the Play Store and now it is getting an amazing feature “dark mode”. With the help of this new feature, users of Android Messages can eliminate the bright white background, now they don’t need to switch to a darker interface. The new mode is rolling out in Android Messages version 3.5, which brings the same Material Design that is now available in Google Phone and Google Contacts.

Many users prefer Dark color schemes, as they find this interface more comfortable to use over long periods of time. Moreover, users think that in dark environments where a white background is unwelcome, a dark mode works better.

Android Messages Now Receives Dark Mode

In version 3.3, the Android Messages dark mode first appeared as a hidden option, but only some users could enable it at that time.

However, now the version 3.5 update makes it available for everyone with the Material Design style. When users enable it, the background of app becomes a dark grey color; the text box and message backgrounds are lighter shades of grey.

Once users installed the version 3.5, they can open the app’s menu where they can access Settings. There they will find an option of “Enable dark mode”. To turn on dark mode, users have to tap on the three buttons at the right of the screen and to turn it off, they need to tap on the same three buttons and click on “Disable dark mode.”
