There has been a gradual shift in consumers’ mindset in accepting mobile “online shopping for women” as a useful alternative. According to The Pakistan Advertiser Society, the number of smartphone users is expected to reach 40 million at the end of 2016 (Baloch, 2015). Among these smartphone carriers, about 68% of them are android users, which is on top relative to other operating systems.

According to recent survey, about 70% of people under the age of 21-30 years are cell phone users. The trend among these millennial is that they are always on the go with a mobile in their hand, so it’s more likely that they will browse everything and anything on their phone.

That is why the role of operating systems, especially Android, plays an important role for businesses in the e-commerce industry as they are able to target and capture a large audience towards their goal.

These companies mostly advertise their presence and their products mostly through social media marketing. This is because a large amount of time of an individual is spent on browsing the social media pages including Facebook and Instagram. That is why businesses sponsor their brands on these social media pages. The more the people look at these sponsored advertisements, the more they are aware of the usefulness of that brand.

So it is important for all e tailers to make their presence on these Social Media Pages and keep them updated frequently. This way the consumers are constantly aware of these brands and the offers that they provide, thus building their PR and reputation.

Major e-tailers in Pakistan including, and among others, have made their websites mobile friendly so that people can conveniently and smoothly browse their products if they intend to buy. Some of them have also introduced their mobile apps as well in order to provide a smooth browsing and ordering experience of their products.
