Gone are days when Facebook used to be remembered for its quality services. Now it is known for its privacy scandals. When Cambridge Analytical scandal surfaced on the internet, everyone was shocked to know that they are not saved with Facebook. But after then we came across one after another scandal and its so common now that people really do not care about their security being compromised. This time Facebook is facing a new privacy breach, which gave access to more than 100 developers. These developers could access users’ Facebook data due to the error made by the social media giant. This Facebook Privacy Breach will lift up your trust from this platform.
Will you Still Use Platform after Facebook Privacy Breach?
This news broke on Facebook developers blog which revealed that the pictures of people using Facebook are compromised and are disclosed to the developers even when Facebook had changed its privacy in a year back.
Konstantinos Papamiltiadis, Facebook’s director of platform’s partnerships said:
“Roughly 100 partners” had gained access to users through the Groups API over the past 18 months, [while] at least 11 partners accessed group members’ information in the last 60 days,” “Before April 2018, group admins could authorize an app for a group, which gave the app developer access to information in the group. But as part of the changes to the Groups API after April 2018, if an admin authorized this access, that app would only get information, such as the group’s name, the number of users, and the content of posts,”
A few months back we were told that the social media giant had suspended plenty of apps in order to save its user’s from any kind of privacy breach. According to the spokes person of Facebook, the company will take strict actions against the developer who have saved its users’ data.
The company is taking strong measures by asking developers in concern to delete any information that they have accessed. No other information was revealed by Facebook and it also not confirmed whether any data of the user is misused or not.
