Anusha Rehman Attends the Ministerial Roundtable at the 2nd Day of ITU Telecom World 2015

Minister of IT and Telecom Mrs. Anusha Rehman is attending the ITU Telecom World 2015 event at Hungary. At the 2nd day of the event she also attended the  Ministerial Roundtable Conference. The Ministerial Roundtable provides high-level government representatives an important opportunity to share their vision of how national, regional and international developmental objectives could be accelerated through innovative ICT solutions, with particular emphasis on the role of ICT SMEs, entrepreneurs and innovators. like How are ICTs enabling and accelerating socio-economic development, and what is the particular contribution of SMEs in this sector.

Drawing on the discussions of the opening Leadership Summit at ITU Telecom World, Ministers will share policy experiences and directions, debate challenges and opportunities in the rapidly-changing environment of the ICT sector, and explore innovative ways to mobilize digital entrepreneurship as a key enabler of sustainable social development and economic growth.

Dr Peter Major, Special advisor to the Permanent Mission of Hungary to the UN in Geneva, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Hungary to the UN, Switzerland, was the Moderator of the session. Opening Remarks were given by Ministry for National Economy, Hungary, H.E. Mr Mihály Varga and Mr Houlin Zhao, Secretary General, International Telecommunication Union, Switzerland. Apart from them 24 speakers were present in the ministerial roundtable. Mrs Anusha Rehman was also one of the speakers.

The session concluded with the launch of the Budapest Call for Action, documenting the participants’ commitment to enabling digital entrepreneurship as a key accelerator of social and economic development.
