As we told earlier that Greekbench and Reddit also suggested that Apple slows down old devices to encourage customers to get new iPhones.  After these allegations the tech giant responded actively and Apple Revealed why iPhones with Older Batteries are Running Slower.

While telling the reason Apple said in a statement:

Last year we released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting down during these conditions. We’ve now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future

Apple will be regretting its comment when they admitted that it was purposely slowing down iPhones. The company has not just earned criticism but also a lawsuit now. People were not happy with Apple defending it self by giving excuse to slowing down iPhone without informing people.

The reason Apple gave is technically right but they should have communicated to its users before. The failure of communication is used by Stefan Bogdanovich and Dakota Speas, who sued Apple in the Central District Court of California.

Their lawsuit claims more than what Apple admitted. According to them, due to Apple’s intentional interface of normal iPhone operations, users had to repair their phones out of warranty. It means that Apple were just getting more profit.
