Apple Launches “Apps For Earth” to Save the Earth
For this purpose iphone has started a campaign which will run till April 24. For this matter the iPhone maker and developers will donate from different Apps created for the campaign. This cause of Apple shows that they are socially conscious about the depleting environment.
The CEO of Apple Tim Cook on this matter said that;
“We have been putting quite an emphasis these past few years on environmental initiatives at Apple, really trying to walk the walk with respect to our own operations and how we make and recycle our products,”
Promoting the hash tag #appsforEarth, this project includes following Apps.
- Angry Birds 2 (Rovio Entertainment; Finland)
- Best Fiends (Seriously; US)
- Candy Crush Soda Saga (King; Malta)
- Cooking Dash 2016 (Glu Games Inc.; US)
- Cut the Rope: Magic (ZeptoLab; Russia)
- Disney Infinity: Toy Box 3.0 (Disney; US)
- Dragon City (Social Point; Spain)

One of the motivation for starting this campaign can be the criticism faced by Apple from many environmental advocates. They criticized the company for relying on suppliers who are heavy polluters and constructing its devices so tightly that their components can be difficult to disassemble and reuse. However the new campaign with WWF has somehow helped to minimize the criticism on Apple. The company is also grateful to the developers who have worked with them to make the planet safe for wilflife.
