Apple Revealed the Most Downloaded Apps of 2016
Finally, Apple has announced the top apps based on overall App Store charts throughout the year. Apple published lists of the ’10 Best Apps of the Year’ and ’10 Best Games of the Year’ on the iOS App Store and Apple TV App Store, and an extended list of the ‘Best Apps & Games of 2016’ on the Mac App Store. Apple Revealed the Most Downloaded Apps of 2016.
Results were utter surprise for people. Snapchat was having its best year. According to Apple it beat the most famous-downloaded Apps including Facebook, Instagram and Pokémon Go which were previously very famed.

Amazingly Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and YouTube regularly land the top spots in the App Store but the order is less expected. Facebook’s Slandered app, Messenger which has an average App Store rating of only three stars landed the second spot, where as the summer’s blockbuster Pokémon Go came at number three.
Snapchat was also in list last year but was only ranked number 5. Trivia Crack, which stood number one in 2015, didn’t even make the top 10 this year.

- Pandora
- Netflix
- Spotify Music
Apple also announced its editorial picks for best apps of the year. Photo app Prisma landed best iPhone app of the year while Clash Royale was named best iPhone game. All of Apple’s best app picks can be found in the App Store, with similar lists available naming the best music, TV shows, movies, and books in the iTunes and iBooks Stores.
