The leading mobile phone manufacturer in the world, Apple to Develop its Own Graphics Chips for Future iPhones. Presently, Apple is the brand that is manufacturing its own processor in the mobile phone industry; now the brand has decided to also develop its own graphics chips.

Apple is always one a head of other mobile companies. Apple’s long term partner “Imagination Technologie” has revealed that the company will stop its intellectual property for GPU chips within a span of 24 months. That’s basically because Apple now wants to use its own home-spun alternative for the purpose.

Imagination Technologie said that:

“Apple has asserted that it has been working on a separate, independent graphics design in order to control its products and will be reducing its future reliance on Imagination’s technology.”

For a mobile company, it is for sure a very good move as instead of relying on vendors, making your own chips is an effective strategy. Let’s see when Apple comes up with its own graphic chips. Apple contract with Imagination will end after 15-24 month; hence after we may hear about its own chips in coming iPhones.
