In a press conference on Thursday, Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said that a technical formula has been finalized which will assist in blocking websites containing blasphemous material, therefore the ban on YouTube is expected to be removed in the near future.  She said that a meeting will be arranged with Inter-Ministerial Committee to make the final decision. She further said that a special cell has been formed in the ministry that would respond to any complaints about the blasphemous material present anywhere.

Explaining the delay of 3G auction, Anusha Rehman said:

that few people for the sake of their own interests are creating hurdles in the appointment of PTA Board, once that problem is settled the introduction of 3G in Pakistan will start.

While talking about the problem of grey trafficking she said, “There was no system to control grey traffic in the past but now a system is being installed at the PTA headquarters”.

“The installation of the particular system would be completed by September 15, with the cost of around Rs 2,700 million,” the minister added.
