Breaking News: Gen (R) Amir Azeem Bajwa Appointed as New Chairman PTA

Breaking News: Major General (RT) Amir Azeem Bajwa, former Director General SCO has been appointed Member Technical at Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), while Dr. Khawar Saddique Khokhar is being made  Member Compliance.

According to Sources, the notification for the appointment of both members is being issued. Although, Chairmanship of Gen (R) Amir Bajwa is not notified as of yet, but as per previous practices Gen (R) Bajwa will be notified as the Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) being Member Technical.

According to sources, seventeen candidates were shortlisted and interviewed by a committee to fill both the slots.

A high level government official confirmed that

“Member Technical is usually the chairman of the Authority and hence its only matter of time that the appointment will be notified officially”,

General (RT). Amir Bajwa will replace Muhammad Naveed, who is member finance and has been Chairman of PTA on extemporary basis since November 13, 2017. Dr. Khawar Khokhar, on the other hand, will fill the slot vacated by Mr. Abdul Samad.
