The fifth version of the Gulf Business Awards was held in a splendid ceremony at Taj Dubai on Tuesday evening. It presented some of the prevalent business leaders in the UAE. During these awards, the Entrepreneur of the year award went to Mudassir Sheikha and Magnus Olsson, founders of Careem. They won this award by public voting. They won this award for the second time.

A total of 25 awards, mediated by a sovereign panel and public voting were revealed during the evening, which also celebrated the 20th anniversary of Gulf Business magazine.
Out of the 25 awards, the popular Gulf Business Company of the Year award was bagged by home-based brand Jumeirah. The 2016 Business Leader of the Year award was handed to the CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths. Another high profile winner, His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair grabbed the Banking Business Leader of the Year trophy.
CAREEM is an app-based car booking platform offering reliable, convenient and secure transportation to citizens across Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Beirut, Cairo, Casablanca, Dammam, Dhahran, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Khobar, Kuwait, Rabat, and Riyadh. Careem officially propelled in Lahore in October 2015 and since then has launched in Karachi and most recently in Islamabad.
The awards pursued to congratulate merit in the corporate world and renowned companies and business leaders across nine industries.
