Chairman PITB Calls On Bill Gates to Share Use of Technology for Immunization Improvements

Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif was invited by CEO of Microsoft Bill Gates and Malinda Gates Foundation for a Global Good meeting in Seattle, US. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates praised Pakistan’s technological advancements for immunization coverage. He said Pakistan technological sector growing at a fast pace is setting an example for the rest of the world.

Dr Umer Saif said that he was proud to share the improvements in immunization coverage due to technology advancements. He also said that it was great to share how Pakistan has eradicated dengue and have improved healthcare with the use of technology.

Mr. Gates also appreciated the efforts made in technology into the south country that is Asian stating that he has never ever seen such quick change making use of technology around the globe.

Dr. Saif also met with the teams at Gates Foundation

During his visit, the communique added, Dr. Saif also met with other teams at the Gates Foundation and shared his work in farming technology for crop yield estimation using GIS information.

No doubt, Bill Gates comments were very encouraging and it is a global success for being appreciated by such renowned personality.

When it comes to the introduction of technology in Government sector in Pakistan, the only province that is doing wonders in this area in Punjab. Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has left no stone unturned in this regard and has introduced several significant initiatives to make Punjab a true digital province.
