Chinese Company Offers Investment in Electric Rickshaws in Pakistan
A Chinese company has offered to invest and cooperate in electric rickshaws in Pakistan to promote affordable and environmentally friendly transportation.
The proposal was discussed during a Pakistan-China joint investment conference held at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). A delegation of Chinese investors attended the event and explored investment opportunities in different sectors of Pakistan.
During their visit to ICCI, the Chinese delegation met representatives of the Pakistani business community. The discussions focused on bilateral trade, investment opportunities and the potential for joint projects between businesses from both countries.
Chinese Company Offers Investment in Electric Rickshaws in Pakistan
The head of the Chinese delegation said the group had visited Pakistan for the first time to explore investment opportunities. He said the delegation had identified several promising areas during its visit and remained optimistic about investing in Pakistan in the future.
Representatives of a Chinese company also offered to invest in the electric rickshaw sector. They said the company wants to help develop affordable and environmentally friendly transportation options in Pakistan.
According to the Chinese representatives, electric rickshaws currently available in Pakistan can cost more than Rs1 million. The company plans to explore ways to offer its electric rickshaws for less than Rs500,000, which could make them more accessible to local consumers.
The company also proposed a battery rental model for electric rickshaws. Under this model, users would rent the batteries instead of purchasing them. This could reduce the initial cost of buying an electric rickshaw and encourage more people to switch to electric transportation.
The participants also discussed ways to strengthen business ties between Pakistan and China. They stressed the need to attract more Chinese investment and encourage joint industrial and commercial projects.
The proposed investment in electric rickshaws could support Pakistan’s efforts to promote cleaner transportation while also creating new opportunities for cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese businesses.
