A delegation of a Chinese conglomerate visited Ministry of IT on Wednesday to reconnoiter investment openings in IT sector under Pak-China economic corridor.
The delegation was briefed about the vast investment opportunities offered to Chinese companies by the country’s internet sector. The broadband penetration has increased from 3% to 15% over a short span of less than a year, and has a potential to grow. Visiting delegation revealed their interest in IT parks, telecom infrastructure and local manufacturing of mobile phones.

Cabinet Division revealed in a separate development that it has shifted 68% of total office operations on Computer based E-Office software. Federal Secretary Establishment Division Nadeem Hassan Asif informed ministry of IT officials during a meeting that within a matter of no time the entire division will be totally transferred to e-office suit, a paperless environment.
