CM Approves to Set up Information Technology University at the Knowledge Park
Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting on Thursday. In the meeting different matters related to the Lahore Knowledge Park Project were discussed. The chief minister also gave an approval to set up Information Technology University at the Knowledge Park. However he also issued instructions for submitting final recommendations regarding the establishment of another hi-tech university in the knowledge park.

Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said:
The Punjab government will complete a project of information technology university with its own resources while it will also provide funds for the project of establishing another university.
He ordered the Vice-Chancellor Information Technology University to submit final recommendations at the earliest for the project of Information Technology University. Shahbaz Sharif said for the promotion of information technology for high quality education Lahore Knowledge Park will play an important role and other modern knowledge project will also promote the education and research.
He further added:
The Punjab government has allocated a sum of Rs. 21 billion for the project of knowledge park during the next three years and it will provide Rs. seven billion annually from its own resources for the construction of the project.
The provision of resources for the promotion of education is useful investment and the Punjab government will make investment in future of the country through knowledge park project.
Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed, chief secretary, educationists, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board and Chief Executive Officer of Lahore Knowledge Park Authority besides other concerned people were also present.
