Court Rejects Ducky Bhai’s Plea for YouTube Channel and Phones

A judicial magistrate has rejected a request filed by well-known YouTuber Saadur Rehman. Ducky Bhai had asked the court to release his YouTube channel and mobile phones on an interim basis. The decision was announced on Tuesday by Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo after hearing the application.
The court did not approve the request related to the YouTube channel and mobile phones. The magistrate stated that these items are part of an ongoing investigation. Due to this reason, they cannot be handed back at this stage. The application for interim custody was therefore dismissed.

However, the court did allow partial relief to the content creator. The magistrate ordered that 19 personal items recovered during a search should be returned to Ducky Bhai. These items were considered unrelated to the core allegations of the case and were not required for further investigation.
The items ordered to be released include bank cards and identity cards. A laptop bag was also included in the list. The court further directed the return of a GoPro camera and several other personal belongings. These items were seized earlier during official proceedings.
Ducky Bhai had approached the court to recover his seized property. He argued that the items were essential for his daily life and professional work. His YouTube channel is his main source of income. He also stated that mobile phones are necessary tools for managing online content.
Despite these arguments, the court maintained a strict position. The magistrate observed that electronic devices may contain material linked to the case. Until the investigation is complete, such items must remain in official custody.
The case against Ducky Bhai is related to the alleged promotion of gambling applications. Authorities claim that he promoted betting apps through social media platforms. Such promotions are considered illegal under cybercrime laws in Pakistan. Investigators believe this content could negatively influence viewers, especially young audiences.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency arrested the YouTuber in August. The arrest followed a formal inquiry into digital content shared on his platforms. The case attracted wide attention due to his large online following.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court granted Ducky Bhai bail on November 24. The bail allowed his release from custody but did not include the return of seized devices. The latest order further clarifies that digital items will remain with investigators.
Legal experts say this approach is common in cybercrime cases. Courts often separate personal belongings from digital evidence. Only non-essential items are returned during investigations. Sensitive material is retained until legal proceedings conclude.
The case highlights increased scrutiny of social media influencers. Online creators are now under greater legal responsibility. Content shared on digital platforms can have serious legal consequences. The outcome of the case is still awaited.
