MediaTek is set to unveil its next-generation Dimensity chipset on December 23 in China at 3 PM local time. While there has been no confirmation from the company regarding the name, credible leaks strongly hint at the launch of the highly anticipated upper midrange Dimensity 8400.

According to the leakster Digital Chat Station, the Dimensity 8400 will feature a 4nm architecture with a 1+3+4 CPU cluster and the powerful Immortalis-G720 MC7 GPU. The chipset is rumored to have achieved an impressive 1.8 million points on AnTuTu benchmarks, promising a significant performance leap over its predecessor (Dimensity 8300).

Dimensity 8300: Close Yet Behind Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The Dimensity 8300 delivered solid performance but couldn’t dethrone Qualcomm’s upper midrange chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In NanoReview comparisons, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 held an upper edge in CPU performance, gaming capabilities, and overall chip score. The Dimensity 8300, however, showcased higher GPU frequency and slightly better CPU clock speeds.
