The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had took the lead and launched very first of its kind initiative to educate the KPK children on computer programming. The education sector in this regard has collaborated with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB). KPITB, Education Department sign MoU to Launch ‘Early Age Programming & IT Essentials’.
KPITB will help the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education to pursue a project “Early Age Programming & IT Essentials” for the children of Government schools. The initiative aims to impart an international standard training mechanism so that the children studying at government schools can equally reap the benefits of technology and get trained for future jobs.

It is also worth mentioning here that providing computer programming training at school level will be a unique and very fruitful step in the education sector.
About Early Age Programming & IT Essentials:
Initially this project will be launched on pilot basis across 60 public sectors schools in the 14 selected districts of KPK. Later on, it will be extended to entire province in the second phase of project.
The launch ceremony of “Early Age Programing & IT Essentials” was held yesterday and was attended by:
- KPK Senior Minister for Information Technology Shahram Tarakai
- Provincial Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan
- High ups of KPITB and Education Department
- Teachers and media persons
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Education Department and KPITB so that the project could be launched soon in the province.
We expect that the “Early Age Programing & IT Essentials” project can introduce essential technological standards in the province of KPK and can also help in improving the the level of IT education.
