Etisalat Group CEO Ahmad Julfar Quits for Personal Reasons

The operator informed that Etisalat CEO Ahmad Julfar quits for personal reasons yesterday. The company while announcing it’s financial results revealed that their CEO Mr. Julfar resigned from the leadership position. The board also accepted this resignation and appointed Mr. Hatem Dowidar as the new CEO of the company. Mr. Hatem Dowidar will serve as the acting CEO of organization until the Etisalat Group successfully restructures it’s hierarchy at the end of June 2016.

Dowidar said that:

“I will be working over the next three months with the board to further optimise the group structure.”

Dowidar has served as group COO at Etisalat, was the Chairman of board from 2014 to 2015 at Vodafone Egypt. He has also served as CEO of Vodafone Egypt for 5 years and has remained on other senior positions at Vodafone Group in Malta and London.

Etisalat Group also shared it’s year-on-year drop in net profit as 6.7% for 2015 despite it’s 5.9% rise in the revenues.

The group is seriously making essential changes in its managerial hierarchy from last few days as it has also changed the CEOs of PTCL and Ufone as well. Let’s see what significant improvements it can made with this restructuring of the group in coming days.
