Excessive Internet Usage Effect Your Brain: Study

We already know that using too much internet impacts your brain more than one can even think. A new study has revealed that internet usage even controls your brain working. An international team of scientists has made a study, according to which excessive usage of internet can change the way your brain works effectively or slowly and can also affect your social interactions.

In order to carry on the research, several participants were selected who went through specific cognitive tasks and brain scans. Results revealed that frequent usage of the internet was profoundly affecting people, and such people were more distracted than the people who carry on controlled usage of the internet.

A lead researcher, Joseph Firth while telling about the research said that:

“The key findings of this report are that high levels of Internet use could indeed impact on many functions of the brain. The limitless stream of prompts and notifications from the Internet encourages us towards constantly holding divided attention, which then, in turn, may decrease our capacity for maintaining concentration on a single task.”

He also revealed how using too much internet is changing the social interactions of people. This is an alarming situation and it is high time that we should try to cut down our social media usage time. We should also try to discourage kids in order to reduce their screen time.
