An Uber spokesperson revealed that finally the executive board has decided to offer someone the CEO role. The executive board has voted and the decision will be announced to the employees first.Expedia CEO Dara Khosrowshahi is Appointed as CEO of Uber.

According to Tech Crunch, a person to take over CEO role is Dara Khosrowshahi, former CEO of Expedia. Previously rumors were that Kara Swisher of Recode would be the CEO of Uber.

Meg Whitman and Jeff Immelt were considered for the job but both tweeted publicly that they don’t want to go for this opportunity. The CEO seat of Uber is vacant since June when co-founder Travis Kalanick resigned. He resigned when Lawsuits and allegations on him of sexism were investigated.

Khosrowshahi is working in Expedia since 2005. Before that he worked as Chief Financial Officer of IAC for seven years. Under his lead, Expedia has performed very well in the stock market which is upto 32% so far. It is reported that the stock is trippled in span of five years.

Uber staff is very happy with the decision and said that they are contented with it. They explained that Khosrowshai has the right operational experience to get the job done.

According to a recent Glassdoor survey, Khosrowshahi was ranked 39th among the highest-rated CEOs having 2,200 employee reviews.
