Pakistan has announced to take part in Expo 2020 Dubai. The news broke out on Sunday when the participation contract was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) in Abu Dhabi.

The partnership was signed by Moazzam Ahmed Khan, Pakistani Ambassador to UAE and Sultan Mohammad Al Shamsi—the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
As the signing activities are completed, the preparations for construction of Pakistan Pavillion at Expo 2020 has started. According to initial plans, the pavilion will be constructed on a large plot of 3,449.9 square metres in the Opportunity District. The overall theme of the pavilion would be “Emerging Pakistan”, representing all of the provinces of Pakistan.
Senior officials mentioned that they aim to make Pakistan’s participation most impactful with respect to the overall theme: Connecting minds, creating the future.
Expo 2020 is not a zone specific event, instead, it is for the entire region. According to rumours, Prime Minister has already formed a committee representing both public and the private sector in order to have effective participation.
Yesterday, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan had launched the Pakistan Citizen Portal (PCP) to address public complaints. People can place the complaint through a smartphone app, website, e-mail or Facebook. People can also register the complaints through a toll-free number. Government departments will also hold khuli kecthahris(open courts) to receive people’s complaints. All complaints will be resolved in a given timeframe and a transparent manner to the satisfaction of the complainant.
