Exynos 2700 Leak Reveals Major Details of Galaxy S27 Processor

A new leak has provided an early look at Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2700 chipset, which is expected to power some Galaxy S27 series models. The leaked information reveals details about the processor’s CPU, GPU, cache, and AI capabilities.

The leak comes from a die shot shared by SemiAnalysis. The image appears to show the internal layout of the Exynos 2700 and includes labels that reveal several key specifications.

According to the leak, the Exynos 2700 could feature a 10-core CPU based on new Arm CPU designs. The setup is reportedly made up of two C2 Ultra cores and eight C2 Pro cores. One C2 Ultra core could reach 4.24GHz, while the second may run at 3.36GHz.

The eight C2 Pro cores are reportedly split into two groups. Four cores could operate at 3.74GHz, while the remaining four may run at 2.88GHz. This is an unusual configuration because the two Ultra cores appear to have different maximum clock speeds.

For comparison, Samsung’s Exynos 2600 reportedly uses one C1 Ultra core at 3.8GHz, three C1 Pro cores at 3.25GHz and six C1 Pro cores at 2.75GHz. The Exynos 2700 therefore appears to bring a different approach to CPU design.

The leaked chip could also include 24MB of system-level cache along with around 16MB of L3 cache. These larger cache sizes could help the processor handle demanding applications and multitasking more efficiently.

However, the reported 4.24GHz peak clock speed is lower than the speeds expected from Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chips. This suggests that Samsung may be focusing on overall efficiency and architecture improvements rather than simply pushing CPU frequencies higher.

The graphics side could also receive an upgrade. The Exynos 2700 is expected to feature an Xclipse 970 GPU, reportedly with eight workgroup processors (WGPs). This appears to be similar to the GPU configuration previously associated with the Exynos 2600.

Another major highlight is the size of the NPU, or Neural Processing Unit. The leaked die shot shows a relatively large NPU, suggesting that Samsung could be putting more focus on on-device AI performance. This could help the Galaxy S27 series handle AI features more quickly without relying as heavily on cloud processing.

Samsung is also reportedly planning to place the Exynos 2700 alongside its DRAM. This design could allow a shared Heat Path Block to cover both components. The approach may improve heat management and help keep temperatures under control during heavy workloads.

The Exynos 2700 is expected to appear in selected Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus models. Recent reports have also suggested that Samsung could use the chip in some Galaxy S27 Ultra variants, although this remains unconfirmed.

For now, the leaked specifications should be treated with caution. Samsung has not officially announced the Exynos 2700, and its final specifications could still change before the Galaxy S27 series launches.
