Facebook At Work to Launch on October 10

Facebook is all set to make work as addictive as socializing. The company plans to inaugurate its enterprise communication and collaboration network Facebook At Work. Facebook has distributed invites for the launch event to take place in London on Monday, October 10.

Facebook considers it can keep individual employees busy with the product. So it’s having a bet on a pricing plan. That charges companies “per monthly active user” rather than charging a flat amount per company, states Facebook @ Work director Julien Codorniou. It has been revealed that Facebook will announce launch incorporation or corporations with other SaaS tool providers comprising Asana.

Facebook At Work users can use the product’s special “Work Feed” of posts from coworkers to exchange ideas and undertake tasks. It will also offer Groups along with Messenger, which comprises audio and video calling. Plus it delivers the social network’s profiles, Events and Live video features.

Facebook hopes to contend with Slack, Salesforce Chatter and Microsoft Yammer in the workplace communication space. But Slack and Yammer won’t opt out of the race just because Facebook steps in. Slack is supported by almost $540 million in funding. Whereas Yammer elevated close to $142 million before Microsoft attained it in 2012.

The precise price for Facebook At Work hasn’t been publicized yet. But the 400-plus beta testers who’ve been using it for free will get a few extra months to test it out.

Facebook At Work’s major strength could be its acquaintance. It should find on-boarding users easier than many SaaS tools as people will already have a login. That quick registration could help it advance contestants that can often appear distant or unclear compared to consumer software.

The takeoff will come just as Microsoft crumbs the Yammer Enterprise tier many companies depend on. Who might be looking for a new way to keep the entire team on the same page. Expanding its income streams yonder advertising could benefit Facebook lift its bottom line without sinking its users in marketing.
