After the Afghanistan Earthquake Facebook Checks the safety status by notifying those people who were in the affected area. Facebook sent a notification to all its users who are in the affected area to ensure their safety. This safety status has two options  which are “I’m not in the area” and second one is “I’m safe”.

Yesterday Pakistan, Afghanistan and India faced an earthquake of Magnitude 7.5 according to US Geographical survey and 8.1 according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The quake was 196 km deep and centred 82 km south-east of Feyzabad in a remote area of Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountain range killing scores of people and injuring hundreds of others in the region. More than two minutes of sustained tremors were felt in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. The quake also hit the cities of Lahore, Faisalabad and the mountainous region of Chitral.
