Nowadays, Facebook is under fire for not protecting it’s users’ information. Due to this, Facebook is taking several steps that will reduce the spread of false news and will also curb the leakage of personal data of Facebook users. It has also created a research team, that will sort out how the data needs to be protected. Moreover, the social media giant has also introduced several features that will curb the spread of hoax on its platforms. But in doing so, it has also removed certain features that were objected of leaking user’s personal data. Wave Good-Bye to Facebook Birthdays In Calendar

It would be a major shock for people who forget their friend’s birthdays and facebook was the only source for them to remember it. So from now on, you would be able to export events and parties, but the ability to export your friend’s birthday is taken away from you. According to the spokesperson, this step is taken to protect user’s personal information.

In my opinion, many people will not be happy with this decision of Facebook. But remember that Facebook still allows you to download all of your own information like photos, videos and chat log etc. Be reminded that your friend’s birthday is not your entity and it’s a part of his personal information, not yours.
