Yesterday, 28, November 2019 was a Thanks Giving Holiday in the US. Many people took a day off to celebrate this special day with their loved ones. On this day, they made good food and exchanged gifts with each other in a gesture to say thanks to everyone. On the same day, surprisingly, social media apps especially Facebook & Instagram also took a day off. The platform stopped working for a whole hour. It was the day when people could communicate with each other and at the same time wish them on this day. However, what happened was quite different.

A number of people lodged a complaint on Downdetector. People were not able to upload things and were also not able to access their news feed whereas some users also said that they have faced total blackout. As Instagram and Facebook belong to same family, we can understand how the problem hit both at the same time.
During this outrage, the Facebook spokesperson said:
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook’s family of apps, including Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
