Facebook is partnering with Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com to introduce a plugin that will make it much easier for those using the publishing platform to post speed-elevated Instant Articles onto the social network.
Facebook Makes Blogging More Easy with New WordPress Plugin
A couple of weeks ago Facebook stated that it would open up Instant Articles, posts that have been formatted and optimized to load directly on mobile to any publisher without a special approval procedure. Instant Articles loads articles in News Feed up to ten times faster than standard web articles and is optimized for the mobile reading experience, offering the kind of fluid, high-quality experience and interactivity people expect from inherent apps.
While that was great news, still it gave the impression like there might be an obstacle for unprofessional publishers without the coding skill essential to implement the format on their own blogs.
The company realized that this could be difficult, therefore Facebook collaborated with WordPress for the plugin. Normal WordPress prototypes should work out-of-the-box, but those with personalized sites will have to encompass the platform to upkeep any additional features.
According to Facebook, WordPress controls over 25 percent of websites (not only publishers), making it really easy for WordPress users to sign up for Instant Articles.
Facebook further adds that the plugin will be accessible before it opens up Instant Articles on April 12.
