Facebook Messenger to Arrive on Desktop, Getting lighter and Safer

Facebook keeps on launching new features to make their app flourish. Nowadays the social media giant is very active for its messenger, bringing new features for it on a weekly basis. This time the company is planning to bring its messaging app on the desktop. Yesterday Facebook broke this news regarding the launch of Facebook Messenger Desktop version at F8 developer conference held in San Jose, California.

Facebook Messenger Desktop Version to Arrive this Year

No doubt, more people want to use Messenger app on mobile but let’s not forget students and office workers who spend most of their time on computers. So, finally, the company has realized that there should be a dedicated desktop version of Facebook messenger for those people who work on computers.

On the conference, Facebook said in a statement:

“People want to seamlessly message from any device, and sometimes they just want a little more space to share and connect with the people they care about most

In the company’s perspective, adding Facebook messenger for the desktop will further boost its profit by making it an attractive place for the business world. From a long time, the company is also thinking to incorporate business tools to its messaging apps making this app a channel for marketing, businesses, and customers.

Facebook messenger for the desktop will include audio calls, group video calls, and other desktop-friendly features. The new messenger on the desktop will be based on  Messenger.com, which is a web-based version of Facebook Messenger.

The company has revealed that the desktop version of the Facebook messenger is in the testing phase and will be launched soon.
