Facebook Restores Deleted Status Cross-Posted From Twitter

Yesterday many Facebook users reported that the posts that were cross-posted from Twitter, are removed from their timeline. People were confused that why it happened and said maybe Facebook has changed some privacy settings with third part sharing.

Status Cross-posted from Twitter temporarily disappeared from Facebook

Today Facebook has restored status deleted from user’s timelines cross-posted from Twitter. The tech giant said twitter request was responsible for vanishing the posts.

For many years, Facebook and Twitter are in collaboration and can easily link their accounts, at the same time allowing tweets to be automatically posted on Facebook timeline.

The removal of tweets from Facebook was thought to be linked with recent API restrictions the social media giant placed on third-party developers for user’s privacy concerns.

However, we came to know that Twitter is the defaulter in this episode. Regarding the issue, Facebook stated that:

“Twitter admin requested their app be deleted, which resulted in content that people had cross-posted from Twitter to Facebook also being temporarily removed from people’s profiles. “However, we have since restored the past content and it’s now live on people’s profiles.”

Last month, Facebook revealed that automatic cross-posting would no longer occur due to the new restrictions. However, the disappearance of Tweets was a shock for many people.
