FBR Simplifies Income Tax Return Filing for Tax Year 2026

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced new features and changes to the income tax return for Tax Year 2026 to make the filing process easier for taxpayers.

The tax authority is providing tax practitioners with information about the latest changes, online filing procedures and other important aspects of the Tax Year 2026 income tax return. The initiative will help taxpayers better understand the filing process and complete their returns more easily.

The FBR and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) recently held an awareness seminar to brief participants about the new features and key changes introduced in the Tax Year 2026 return. The session also covered the procedure for filing income tax returns online.

The FBR is also conducting an awareness campaign for small traders regarding the simplified Tajir Return. As part of the campaign, the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Islamabad and the FBR Domain Team briefed more than 100 small traders at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Officials explained the return filing procedure and responded to technical questions from traders during the session. The initiative will help small businesses understand their tax filing requirements and use the available digital facilities.
