FIA Recovers Rs 425 Million in NCCIA Corruption Cases

A meeting was held to review the ongoing inquiries into corruption cases involving officers of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). During the session, officials shared detailed updates on the status of investigations and actions taken so far. According to the briefing, two FIRs have been registered against NCCIA officers—one in Lahore and the other in Islamabad—with the latest case registered in November.
Officials disclosed that eight officers were named in the first FIR, while ten officials were nominated in the second case. The officers involved fall within Grades 16 to 18, indicating that middle-level management was allegedly involved in these corruption activities.

It was stated that after the arrival of the new administration in NCCIA, no fresh corruption case has been reported. Officials added that the new leadership has placed officers with clean reputations in important positions, ensuring improved transparency and oversight in departmental affairs.
Despite these measures, concerns were raised over how such irregularities continued for an extended period and how they allegedly operated openly without accountability. Officials informed that the investigations are currently underway with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) leading the process.
A significant development that emerged from the briefing was that FIA has successfully recovered Rs 425 million in connection with the first FIR. This recovery is being viewed as a major breakthrough in exposing financial misconduct linked to NCCIA officers.
To further assess progress, it was decided to call FIA representatives in the next meeting. The chairperson emphasized that FIA officials should provide a detailed update on the current status of investigations, including the recovery process and future course of action.
