However, now the company has unveiled the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid that will hit the market in 2019. It will be the first hybrid Corolla. According to Toyota, the new Corolla Hybrid will use the new generation of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive that is borrowed from the Prius. This new version will have a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that will come with two electric motors and a continuously variable transmission. A nickel-metal hydride battery will produce electric energy just like we have seen in the new Prius AWD-e. This placement will preserve a cargo space, as well as will also lower the centre of gravity.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid will come with an EV mode. In certain situation, the EV mode allows the car to move under electric power alone.

The Toyota company said that Corolla Hybrid has a number of drive modes which give different behaviours from the powertrain. The car will come with 15-inch aluminium alloy wheels. Moreover, the vehicle will have low-rolling-resistance tires. Initially, the car will only be available in the U.S.
