As we have already reported that Epic unveiled a Battle Royale competition with a large in-game cash prize for its latest game, Fortnite. The company named the competition, Fortnite World Cup. Further, the event will take place in 2019.
Fortnite World Cup with $100 million as Prize Money Scheduled for 2019
The prize money for the competition will be $100. It will be spread out over a number of different “organized events, online events, and major organized competitions all over the world.” Moreover, the team has mentioned that the world cup would be open to everyone. The qualification would be based entirely on the merit and there will be not selling of teams or franchises by third-party leagues or Epic Games itself.

Previously, the company also laid out plans to bring voice chat and improved gameplay and controls to the mobile side of things. Earlier this year, the game was reportedly bringing in $126 million in monthly revenue. Moreover, the game nets as much as $1 million per day.
