Yesterday, Samsung announced that it has successfully developed an 8GB chip for its mobile device which will pave a way towards 5G connectivity and artificial intelligence-powered applications. This new chip will feature in upcoming Galaxy S10 which will be launched next year.
While telling about Samsung’s 5G compatible phone, Jinman Han, a senior vice president at Samsung Electronics said that:
“This development of 8Gb LPDDR5 represents a major step forward for low-power mobile memory solutions. We will continue to expand our next-generation 10nm-class DRAM lineup as we accelerate the move toward greater use of premium memory across the global landscape.”
Samsung also revealed that the new device is capable of transferring 51GB of data per second – or approximately 14 full-HD video files. On the other hand, Galaxy S9 has only 4GB of RAM, while the iPhone X features only 3GB of RAM. OnePlus 6 is the only Smartphone with 8GB of RAM.
Other rumours for the Galaxy S10 include a fingerprint sensor that uses ultrasonic sensors embedded in the screen to read fingerprints.
Some rumours also claim that Samsung Galaxy S10 will come in 5.8 inches, 6.1 inches, and 6.4 inches. These sizes are very nearly the same to the sizes of Apple’s next series of iPhones.
