Google Messages App Crosses 500 Million Downloads

In the past few days, the Google Messages app has crossed 500 million installs on Play Store. The app just made its way to more devices via the Play Store in the Android ecosystem. Google messages app is facilitating users to send texts and share GIFs, emojis, stickers, pictures, videos along with audios, similar to Apple’s iMessage.

According to 9To5Google, this number is significant because Google doesn’t require phone makers to pre-install this app as a part of the Google Mobile Services package.

Google Messages App Crosses 500 Million Downloads

The devices like Google’s Pixel line-up and Android One devices from Nokia and Huawei are using Google Messages as the default client for texting.

Google Messages now falls in the top 25 apps of the communication category in the Play Store due to the 500 million installs mark. It has been reported that the app now stands with a 4.2-star rating.

However, not only Goole messages app but some other Google apps have also crossed over 500 million downloads in the Play Store including Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Duo, Google Calendar, Gboard, and Google Photos.

This number is no doubt impressive and it shows that a lot of people are interested in the app, that’s why they opted to install Google’s Messages app from the Play Store.
