Google Removes Over 100 Scam Ads Every Second

Google says that it is removing over 100 scam advertisements every second. These type of adds are just violating the company’s policies. The company will soon implement a verification programme to weed out bad actors from its platform.

The Wall Street Journal reported that scammers were purchasing search ads and deceived people as authorized service agents for companies such as Apple. After that Google said that it is taking action against such scammers.

Google Removes Over 100 Scam Ads For Violating Policies

David Graff, Director, Global Product Policy at Google said:

“Just last year alone, we took down more than 3.2 billion ads that violated our advertising policies – that’s more than 100 bad ads per second. We’re taking another step. We’ve seen a rise in misleading ad experiences stemming from third-party technical support providers and have decided to begin restricting ads in this category globally”

Soon the company will launch a verification programme to make sure that only legal providers of third-party tech support can use Google in order to reach consumers.

Google said that to maintain a healthy advertising ecosystem is One of our top priorities, the company want to protect people from misleading, inappropriate and harmful ads.

This step was taken just after when scammers were found using Google’s advertising system to create misleading ads.
