According to a report from Bloomberg, Google in Talks to Invest $1 Billion in Lyft. Lyft is one of the Uber’s main competitors. This  money will surely help Lyft to expand its services to international markets and try to take some business away from rivals.

Back in 2013, Google has invested in Uber and Now the company is showing interest in buying some part of its biggest rival.

Google or better said Alphabet and Uber have kind of a love-hate relationship. Although Google did invest millions of dollars into the Uber, it’s also currently battling with it in court. Waymo, Alphabet’s self-driving division, is suing Uber over an alleged technology theft. This theft is committed by former Googler Anthony Levandowski, who joined Uber in 2016.

With a billion dollars in its wallet, Lyft could take advantage of this by increasing its market share in the US. Moreover, it can also expand to abroad, and give Uber a run for its money.

However, this deal has not finalized yet. But we will update you when we will get more information about it.

Some rumors are also claiming that Google is in the final stages of acquiring a part of smartphone maker HTC. Earlier reports suggested that HTC was itself interested in some sort of sale.
