Govt Strives to Incorporate Modern Technology in Pakistan: Finance Minister. Addressing on Saturday a one-day workshop on ‘Facebook Developer Programme’ at the Government College for Women University (GCWU) Faisalabad, Finance Minister Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan said:

The government was striving hard to promote technology which was imperative for national progress and prosperity.

He said that the on the promotion of latest technology in the country, billions of rupees were being spent. He also appreciated the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif for establishing an IT (Information Technology) city for the promotion of latest technology which was a hallmark of the Punjab government.

On this occasion GCWU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Naureen Aziz Qureshi encouraged new generation and said that they should get expertise in information technology because it plays an important role in the provision of jobs.

She also mentioned that:

An e-rozgar centre was established at GCWU last year and it produced its batch who is now earning an honourable livelihood through online jobs at their homes.

Pakistan government is continuously striving for the promotion of information technology. For this purpose government has established incubation centers and technology parks. Government has supported so many IT startups and also encourages new investors in IT startups.

Pakistan government has started the preparations to test 5G cellular connectivity and it is expected to be launch this 5G technology by 2020. Pakistan would even beat the largest regional nation, India.
