Govt. to Establish National Incubation Center by Mid of 2016

42nd Board of Director’s meeting of ICT R&D fund Company was held at Ministry of Information and Technology (MOIT), here in Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by Minister of State for IT& Telecom Anusha Rahman. She directed CEO ICT R&D fund co. to come up with an inclusive proposal, for establishing a “National Incubation Project” in the next board meeting. Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Dr. Ismail Shah, MD PSEB Asim Sheryar, CEO ICT R&D fund Syed Muhammad Asif Rumi and other board members were also attended the meeting.

Minister of State for IT& Telecom Mrs. Anusha Rahman said that:

“It is  need of the time that  young IT graduates are encouraged for entrepreneurship  by providing them a conducive environment to begin and flourish their own IT businesses.”

Minister Anusha further revealed that we are following three branched approach for ICT development all over the country which comprises delivery of subsidies for placing fiber optics and broadband propagation specifically in underserved or far flung areas, infrastructure development and technical training. So we are simultaneously working on all these three constituents.

The Board congratulated the Minister Anusha Rahman on Global Achiever award which has been lately conferred upon her by UNWOMEN and ITU in New York. The award is a recognition of the Ministers role in impacting on the status and quantum of the ICT sector in Pakistan having brought the country closer to the international pace of growth in the IT and Telecom industry and specially that enable enhanced role of women in the sector as well as enhanced benefit of women in general from ICT services and systems.
