Driving Sustainable Long Term Growth in the Telecom Sector in Pakistan
Minsiter Anusha Rehman said that Pakistan’s New ICT Policy will be out by next month for which the Consultants have completed their work including initial consultations with mobile operators. However, before the policy document is released end of June it will be shared for wider consultation with the Telecom Industry. She promised to work with the industry in resolving pressing issues to ensure healthy growth of the sector.
GSMA organized an event in Islamabad club, the main theme of the event was to highlight the issues and ensure that they are addressed for sustainable long term growth in the telecom sector in Pakistan.
The event started with the welcome and introduction note by Irene Ng, Head of Asia, GSMA and it was followed by short speech from Dr. Ismail Shah- Chairman PTA. Dr. Ismail highlighted the regulators priorities for the coming months and year and gave a very informative presentation on what the industry and consumer should expect in future.
