HMD Global Shipped 16 Million Nokia Phones in Q3 2017: Counterpoint

Within a period of less than 1 year, HMD Global has brought back the Nokia phones in the market. According to the Counterpoint Research, HMD Global Shipped 16 Million Nokia Phones in Q3 2017. Among them, HMD shipped 2.8 Million Nokia Android smartphones.

Moreover, the company also shipped 13.5 million Nokia feature phones in Q3 2017. This figure puts Nokia on the third position in the feature phones vendor list. Not only this, Nokia also gets 16th position in the smartphones vendor list.

Counterpoint Research was quoted as saying.

“With in quarters of its re-entry in the market Nokia HMD quickly graduated to the 3rd spot in the feature phone segment. Nokia’s smartphones have also been well received in the market making it grow rapidly in recent quarters. The brands sentimental value within dealers and customers paired with quality smartphone launches is helping Nokia gain further market share,”

Ever since its emergence, HMD Global has regularly launched smartphones in the Nokia range. Nokia has launched many budget friendly smartphones like Nokia 2. The company also launched some high-end flagship devices Nokia 8 and Nokia 6. Not only this, the company also redesigned its most famous phone Nokia 3310. All these smartphones and featured phones help HMD Global to retain its market position.

Now the company is working on the processor of Nokia 8 which is Nokia 9. Nokia 9 is considered to be more premium phone than Nokia 8. The phone will launch in the first quarter of 2018. Not only this, the company is also working on a 4G version of Nokia 3310.
