HMD Global Teases the OnePlus 2 Pro: A Minor Upgrade?
A closer look at the rumored specifications and features
HMD Global, the company behind the Nokia brand, is gearing up to launch its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 2 Pro. While the original OnePlus Pro was well-received for its budget-friendly price and decent performance, the upcoming sequel appears to be a more modest upgrade.
A Familiar Formula
Based on recent leaks, the OnePlus 2 Pro is expected to retain many of the key features of its predecessor. The 6.65-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 720p resolution is likely to return, along with the 50MP main camera, 2MP depth sensor, and 50MP selfie camera. The 5,000mAh battery and 20W wired charging are also expected to remain unchanged.
The most notable upgrade seems to be in the storage department, with the OnePlus 2 Pro offering up to 256GB of storage, compared to the 128GB limit of its predecessor. Additionally, the device is rumored to be powered by the Unisoc T612 processor, a slight upgrade over the Unisoc T606 found in the original OnePlus Pro.
A Budget-Friendly Option
While the new OnePlus may not offer groundbreaking innovations, it could still be a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers. With its large display, decent cameras, and long-lasting battery, the device aims to provide a solid user experience without breaking the bank.
However, it remains to be seen whether the minor upgrades will be enough to excite potential buyers. HMD Global will need to carefully price the OnePlus 2 Pro to ensure it stands out in a competitive market.
