HMD Unveils Four New Nokia Feature Phones with Built-In AI Assistant

HMD has introduced four new Nokia feature phones, showing that traditional mobile phones still have a place in today’s market. The latest lineup includes the Nokia 200 4G, Nokia 210 4G, Nokia 215 4G (2nd Edition), and Nokia 235 4G (2nd Edition). While these devices keep the familiar design and simplicity of classic Nokia phones, they also bring a modern touch with the addition of an AI-powered assistant.

One of the biggest highlights of the new phones is the dedicated AI button located in the center of the D-pad. By pressing this button, users can quickly access the built-in AI assistant, which is powered by Sikey AI. The assistant can answer simple questions, provide basic information, and help users perform certain tasks on the phone using voice commands. This makes everyday operations easier, especially for users who prefer voice controls over navigating menus.

HMD says the AI assistant will be available free of charge for the first 180 days after activation. After the free period ends, users will need to purchase a subscription to continue using the AI features. Interestingly, the subscription cannot be purchased directly from the feature phone, as users will need a smartphone to complete the payment process.

Another new feature introduced with these devices is Xpress Chat video calling. All four phones include integrated cameras that support this feature, allowing users to make basic video calls. While feature phones are generally for calling and texting, the addition of video calling gives them extra functionality without making them overly complicated.

The display sizes vary across the lineup. The Nokia 210 4G and Nokia 215 4G (2nd Edition) feature a 2.4-inch QVGA display, which is suitable for everyday tasks such as messaging and calling. Meanwhile, the Nokia 200 4G and Nokia 235 4G (2nd Edition) come with larger 2.8-inch IPS displays that offer the same resolution but provide a slightly better viewing experience.

The camera setup also differs between the models. The Nokia 210 4G includes a rear camera for basic photography, while the Nokia 235 4G (2nd Edition) features a 2MP rear camera, offering slightly improved image quality compared to standard VGA cameras. These cameras are for simple photos and video calls rather than advanced photography.

All four feature phones run on the S30+ operating system, which is famous for its lightweight performance and ease of use. They come with a 1,450mAh removable battery, which should provide long battery life thanks to the phones’ low power requirements.

In terms of connectivity, the devices support 4G networks and Bluetooth 5.0. They also include a USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and built-in FM Radio, ensuring users still have access to popular features found on traditional feature phones.

At the time of the announcement, HMD has not shared pricing or availability details for the new Nokia models. We will get more information about the official launch in the coming days.
