How To Set Up WhatsApp Fingerprint Unlock For Android

To open the app on Android phones, Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp now has fingerprints disabled. That’s followed by WhatsApp adding Touch ID and Face ID back in February for iPhone users and providing extra protection for anyone using the device. Here’s how to set up the additional encryption.

  1. First, go to your WhatsApp settings in the top right corner of the phone where there are three vertical dots.
  1. Click the password, then click the privacy policy.
  1.  You’ll find “fingerprint lock” at the bottom of the privacy tab. Click that, then turn on “unlock with fingerprint.” You’ll then be asked to check your identity by entering your Android phone’s fingerprint.
  1. You will then be asked to verify your identity by entering your Android phone’s fingerprint.

You can then choose when to automatically lock WhatsApp — instantly, after 1 minute, or after 30 minutes.

If the phone is locked, you will still be able to answer calls via WhatsApp.

You can also test how to activate Android’s dark mode apps, how to make the most of your Pixel 4 battery life, and how to switch all of your devices from iOS to Android without crying.
