HTC Blockchain Smartphone, Exodus, will Launch on October 22

HTC is struggling financially, but this does not stop the company from looking into new avenues for growth. One interesting direction is that the company has started working on the blockchain-enabled smartphone called Exodus. Now according to Official Exodus Instagram account, HTC blockchain smartphone will launch on October 22.

Since the teaser doesn’t reveal much information about the device itself. But we know that Exodus is from HTC project lead Phil Chen. The HTC blockchain phone will basically a very safe hardware wallet for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Moreover, it will be an Android-based smartphone. It will come with added security protocols and apps to handle the necessary encryption. Also, the phone will cost around $1,000. There is not much information available about the phone yet. But if the phone will launch on 22nd October, then surely we will get more information in no days.

According to the financial report of HTC, TWD 6.8 billion ($220.6 million) in revenue, which is 58% down compared to last year’s Q2. The quarterly net loss is TWD2.09 billion ($67.8 million). HTC’s founder and chairman Wang Xuehong recently said that HTC will likely focus more on the AR/VR market.

We may assume that the HTC blockchain smartphone will help the company to increase the revenue growth.
